#ISZNNews 🌿 Grade 2–3 Students Support the Masoala Rainforest
Our Grade 2–3 students turned their learning into action with a special fundraising event for the Masoala Rainforest project at Zurich Zoo.
They designed an obstacle course for younger children, shared facts about endangered animals, and hosted a tombola, information station and bake sale.
Together, they raised CHF 150 to support conservation work connected to the Masoala Rainforest.
A lovely example of student-led learning, creativity and compassion in action.

#ISZNNews | Learning About Road Safety 🚦
Kiga 1 and Kiga 2 recently had a special visit from a traffic police officer. The students were very excited to learn more about road safety and how to cross the road carefully. They practised remembering to stop, listen, and only walk when it is safe to do so.
They also learned the importance of saying thank you to the cars that stop for them.
A simple but important lesson for our youngest learners as they build confidence and awareness in everyday life.

Warm air, tropical sounds, towering plants, and roots growing above the soil made this science lesson one to remember.
ISZN Grade 2 visited the Masoala Rainforest at Zürich Zoo as part of their learning about plants and habitats. The experience helped students see how rainforest ecosystems are very different from the Swiss forests they know.

Maths came to life across Primary during a special day of hands-on learning.
From 2D shapes and tessellation to capacity, measurement and 3D structures, pupils explored how maths connects to the world around them. The day ended with a whole-school assembly where children shared their learning and reflected on one clear message: maths is everywhere.

#ISZNNews ISZN Hosts Memorable Track and Field Competition 🏃♂️☀️
Last week, ISZN was proud to be a joint host for a memorable track and field competition, welcoming Grade 9–12 students from across Switzerland.
Sunny weather provided the perfect backdrop for a well-organised and highly attended event, which marked the third year of ISZN hosting a track and field competition for the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS).
There was also great success for our students on both the track and the field. Adam won medals in both shot put and discus, while Arman finished third in the 100m with an impressive time of 12.49 seconds.
We look forward to showcasing another fantastic event next year and seeing the athletes shine once more!

#ISZNNews Exploring creativity through art 🎨
In our Artists unit, Kiga 1 students explored how art can share ideas, feelings, and imagination. They experimented with different materials and techniques, spoke about how art makes them feel, and discovered that there is no single “right” way to create.
By learning about different artists and trying new approaches, they built confidence, creativity, and a strong sense of self-expression.
