Global Be Well Day at ISZN: A Celebration of Wellbeing and Connection
By Sandra Price
At ISZN, Global Be Well Day 2025 was more than just a day on the calendar—it was a celebration of everything we value as a school community. Together, students, teachers, and staff embraced the many aspects of wellbeing: movement, mindfulness, nourishment, and, most importantly, connection.
How we celebrated
This year’s activities were designed to bring our school together in joyful, meaningful ways. Through a series of house activities, students and teachers competed in a spirit of healthy challenge, collaborated to achieve shared goals, and connected with one another in new ways. Laughter, teamwork, and even new friendships filled the day—reminding us that fun itself is an essential ingredient in good mental health.
Why it matters to ISZN
As a proud member of the Cognita family of schools, ISZN shares this annual celebration with thousands of students around the world. For us, wellbeing is not an “extra,” but the very foundation of learning and growing. Global Be Well Day allows us to live out what we talk about all year: showing our students that physical and mental wellbeing truly underpin their journey as learners and young people.
Living our values: respect, resilience, kindness
The day’s activities provided countless opportunities to live out ISZN’s core values. Whether it was working together in teams, leading peers through challenges, or cheering on a classmate, respect, resilience, and kindness were on full display. Student-led activities especially highlighted these values—asking leaders to be resilient in guiding their peers, and peers to show respect and kindness by supporting one another.
Beyond the day
Although Global Be Well Day is celebrated once a year, its impact lasts far beyond. At ISZN, wellbeing is at the heart of daily school life. The connections made during these shared experiences often grow into lasting friendships. The resilience shown strengthens self-respect and appreciation for others. Most importantly, the openness and trust built through these moments ensure that every member of our school knows they are supported, valued, and never alone. At its heart, Global Be Well Day reminds us of what we want ISZN to be every day: a community where everyone feels safe to connect, supported to grow, and empowered to thrive.
