MIDDLE YEARS

Strong Guidance During a Formative Stage of Life

We understand that students in Years 6 to 8 have very different academic and personal needs compared to those in Primary or Upper Secondary School. These are formative years – a time when young people begin to find their voice, shape their identity, and take their first real steps towards adulthood.

Our curriculum is designed to support them on this journey, offering a safe, nurturing environment where they feel seen, valued and challenged in all the right ways.

With caring pastoral support and purposeful, engaging learning content, we foster a strong sense of motivation, a love for learning, and a positive school experience that encourages students to come to school with confidence and curiosity.

For many families, our school is a compelling alternative to the public long-term Gymnasium – combining an international outlook with individual guidance at a stage in life when support truly makes a difference.

OUR APPROACH

We empower students to take ownership of their learning—building independence, confidence, and the skills to think critically.

Key to our success is identifying each student’s strengths and challenges, and adapting our teaching to create a learning environment where every learner can thrive.

The Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum provides a solid foundation for the IGCSE years. With a broad range of subjects and a strong emphasis on transferable skills, it helps students develop the confidence, independence, and academic habits needed for success both in school and beyond.

Curriculum

In Grades 6 to 8, we build on the foundations laid in the Primary Years by introducing key elements of the English National Curriculum.

In Primary, children develop essential skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and reflection—supported by small class sizes and personalised attention. As students move into Grades 6 to 8, subject-specific learning becomes more structured, helping them deepen their knowledge while continuing to grow as curious, capable learners.

Our engaging and thoughtfully designed curriculum builds confidence and prepares students for the academic rigour of the IGCSE and A-Level programmes.
