ISZN Science Ambassadors Launch “The Critical Angle” Podcast
ISZN is pleased to share the release of the first episode of “The Critical Angle”, presented by the ISZN Science Ambassadors.
“It was entirely created by our students,” said Alex McCarron, Head of Science. “They devised it, scripted it, organised it, set-decorated, filmed, edited, and re-edited the whole production. The level of ownership they have taken has been excellent.”
The students are referred to as Science Ambassadors because their role extends beyond leading projects. They act as advocates and communicators within the department, helping to spread enthusiasm for science and connect others to the subject.
Exploring Scientific Pathways
The aim of “The Critical Angle” is to give students greater insight into what the life of a scientist can look like and to discuss pathways into scientific careers. The intended audience includes both students and parents.
Posters have been displayed around the school encouraging students to watch the podcast and engage in discussions with peers and teachers.
“The students involved are very proud of their work, as am I,” Mr McCarron added. “We hope this becomes a recurring feature of the Science Department, with future Science Ambassadors continuing the project.”
